„Rapsfelder im Sauerland“ Rainer Sebald, Aquarell (38x56cm)  2020

Das Sauerland ist eine Mittelgebirgsregion in Westfalen. Es umfasst den nordöstlichen Teil des Rheinischen Schiefergebirges. Die Region umfasst verschiedene Teilgebirge. Die höchsten Erhebungen liegen im Rothaargebirge. Dort entspringt auch die Ruhr. Die im Verhältnis zum Landesdurchschnitt dünn besiedelte Region hat viele Waldgebiete. Naturlandschaften sind immer ein lohnendes Motiv. Was mich bewog dort vor Ort zu malen.

The Sauerland is a low mountain region in Westphalia. It covers the northeastern part of the Rhenish Slate Mountains. The region comprises various sub-mountains. The highest elevations are in the Rothaar Mountains. The Ruhr also originates there. The region, sparsely populated in relation to the national average, has many forest areas. Natural landscapes are always a worthwhile motive. What moved me to paint there.

Salute Venezia !

Santa Maria della Salute – Venedig (Aquarell, Rainer Sebald 38x56cm  2018)

Nach langer Zeit besuchte ich wieder einmal Venedig. Obwohl ich schon 12 mal Venedig besucht habe, war ich wieder total überwältigt. Eines meiner Lieblingsmotive ist die Santa Maria della Salute am Canale Grande.

After long time I visited Venice once again. Although I have visited already 12 times Venice I was totally overpowered again. One of my favorite motives is Santa Maria della Salute in the Canale Grande.

Dopo di molto tempo visitai Venezia ancora una volta. Sebbene abbia visitato gia 12 volte Venezia sono stato completamente sopraffatto di nuovo. Uno dei miei moventi preferiti a Santa Maria della Salute in Canale Grande.

 

Salzburg

Der Hohe Weg ist im unteren Teil der Verbindungsweg zwischen Festungs- und Nonnberggasse, im oberen führt er weiter bis zum zweiten Sperrbogen der Festung Hohensalzburg.Von da aus hat man einen herrlichen Blick über die Altstadt.

The Hoher Weg is the connecting way between Festungs- and  Nonnberggasse in the lower part, in the upper one he further leads up to the second locking curve of the Hohensalzburg castle. From there from one has a marvellous look about the Old Town.

Skyline In The East River

Eine schöne Sicht auf die Skyline von New York hat man vom Pier 17 mit den schönen Museumsschiffen.Die Kulisse tut einem förmlich einladen sie als Bild festzuhalten.Hier harmonisieren wunderbar, die alten Schiffe mit den modernen Hochhäusern.

One has a nice view of the skyline of New York of the pier 17 by the nice museum ships. The scenery acts formally they invite to stick as a picture. Here the old ships with the modern high rises wonderfully harmonise.

 

Postrow z Błotow

Postrow z Błotow – Postkarte aus dem Spreewald.
Der Sage nach ist der Spreewald ein missglücktes Werk des Teufels.Als er vor langer Zeit mit seinen Ochsengespann das Bett der Spree pflügte ,war er schon ein gutes Stück vorangekommen ,doch die Zugtiere zeigten sich müde und wollten nicht mehr so recht.Das passte dem Leibhaftigen nicht.Wutentbrannt warf er seine Mütze nach den Rindviechern und schrie sie an: „Das euch verdammtes Vieh meine Großmutter hole !“
Diese Aussicht muss die Tiere so sehr erschreckt haben.Sie ergriffen die Flucht und rannten mit den Pflug hinterdrein,kreuz und quer davon.
So entstand ein Flußdelta mit 350 Wasserläufen und Fließen von mehr als 500km Länge.Den Teufel also ,haben wir es zu verdanken das es eine solche Fülle an Motiven im Spreewald gibt.

Postcard from the Spree Wood
After the legend the Spree Wood is a failed work of the devil. When he ploughed the bed of the Spree long ago with his ox’s team, he had already made headway a good piece, however, the draught animals were tired and did not want any more so surely. This did not fit the Satan. In a fury he threw his cap at the cattles and shouted at them: “The cattle damned to you my grandmother get!”
This view must have frightened the animals so much. They took the flight and ran away with the plough behind here, all over.
Thus originated a river delta with 350 watercourses and flowing of more than 500-km length. The devil, we have to owe it there is such a fullnessmin motives in the Spree Wood.

Nalěto w Błotach – Frühling im Spreewald
„Das Tor zum Land der Sorben ,das bin ich noch immer ,noch recken meine Wipfel hoch sich in den Himmel ,und altgewordene Bäume schwere ,dunkle Fächer bauen immer noch den Flüssen dichte Dächer…“ heißt es in einem Gedicht von M.Witoje über den Spreewald. Es umschreibt poetisch die mystische Stimmung im Spreewald ,wie ich sie auch als Künstler empfinde.

Spring in the Spree Wood
“The gate to the country of the Sorbian,I am this still, my treetops still high stretch themselves in the heaven, and old-become trees heavy, dark fields still build to the rivers thick roofs …” one says in a poem of M.Witoje over the Spree Wood. It circumscribes poetically the mystic mood in the Spree Wood as I feel them also as an artist.

Wotgłos z Błotow – Echo aus dem Spreewald „Der Teufel hat viel Unheil gebracht- aber unser Spreewald ist eine Pracht“ heißt es in einer alten Weise.Wahre Worte denen ich mich als Maler anschließen kann.

Westminster

Eines der verkehrsreichsten Straßen in London ist die Great George Street in Westminster. Ein schwieriges und spannendes Motiv zugleich. Interessant ist die Kombination der neoklassizistischen Gebäude mit den fließenden Verkehr.

One of the streets richest in traffic is the Great George Street in Westminster.A difficult and exciting motive at the same time.The combination of the neoclassicistic buildings with the fluent treffic is interesting.

Queens Walk

London ist eines meiner Lieblinge unter den europäischen Großstädten.In jeder Hinsicht eine vielseitige und lebendige Stadt ,die viel zu bieten hat.Ob Klassik oder Moderne es ist alles da ,was das Malerherz begehrt.

London is one of my darlings among the europian towns. In every regard, a many – sided town which has to ofter a lot.On accont of classical period or modern age it everything is desired there what the heart of the artist.

Canal Grande

In Venedig sind Architektur und Licht die Hauptakteure die in Verbindung mit Wasser einzigartig sind.
So zeigen sich zu den verschieden Tageszeiten im Wechsel des Lichts immer neue Aspekte der venezianischen Kulisse.

In architettura di Venezia e luce sono i giocatori chiave in connessione con acqua sono unici.
Così il tempo di giorno nel cambiamento della luce si mostra a lui fatto trascorrere i sempre nuovi aspetti del paesaggio veneziano.

In Venice architecture and light are the key players in connection with water are unique.
